CEO Maree Wacker

We are pleased to announce that Maree Wacker will join De Paul Treatment Centers as Chief Executive Officer on January 1. Maree has served as the Regional CEO of the Cascades Region of the American Red Cross for the last four and a half years.  She will be taking the helm as Sheila North, who has served as the agency’s CEO for 17 years, steps down at the end of 2013.

At De Paul, Maree will be responsible for leading the 40 year old agency in the changing world of healthcare service delivery as it lives out its mission of creating freedom from addiction for individuals, families, and communities.

In her capacity at the Red Cross, Maree was responsible for six local chapters in Oregon and Southwest Washington working with the local boards and executive directors and over 2,000 employees and volunteers.  Within the first two weeks of joining the Red Cross as the Chief Development Officer in 2005, the organization responded to Hurricane Katrina. She provided the leadership to raise $14 million from Oregonians to help provide aid to the survivors of this historical disaster. Since then she has led fundraising efforts resulting in more than $54 million for the organization’s mission.

Wacker earned a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Duke University, where she was a fellow and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Washington State University.  She is a graduate of Leadership Portland (2007) and served as the Board Chair of the Sherwood Education Foundation from 2006-2008.
